Thoughts On Contradictions Within Mormon Doctrine, Culture, and History
Christians, you can have your manipulative and capricious god. I’d rather not worship something that sends plagues and then lifts them when enough people grovel and beg that please, for the love of god, stop it. That’s an abusive relationship I don’t need in my life.
One might ask the question then why the precautionary earthquake measures weren’t taken sooner? Why didn’t Mr. Nelson foresee the earthquake today which has been one of the top three biggest earthquakes in Utah’s modern history, and the largest earthquake since the early 1990’s?
Imagine if you will, a scenario where a student chooses to attend BYU for any other reason than because they love strict archaic rules based on a church doctrine formed from a 19th century worldview that has ever so slowly changed over time from immense social pressure but remains intact by hateful octogenarians who long for the good old days when Blacks couldn't have the priesthood and women were regarded only as baby making machines. I know I'm asking a lot of you right now, but bare with me.
